We are shooting a Short Film based on Neil Harbisson, the world’s first cyborg. It is a bold mission that defines this remarkable, true story. Neil is officially half-human, half-robot.
We are going to make a biographical short film about Neil (based on his real life). In 2004, Neil had an antenna (a lightweight eyepiece that he wears on his forehead) fused to his skull. Born seeing only in black and white, the surgery allowed him, for the first time in his life, to perceive colour.
Neil’s story is the first real-life sci-fi and we’re dramatising what we feel is a singularly important moment for humanity: the moment where we arrive at the future. This isn’t a documentary but the lines between reality and fiction are almost certainly blurred.
We are looking at taking this Short Film, to Film Festivals with a view of making a full scale feature on it. We have also already touched based with Television Networks in the UK.
We are looking for some featured cast for this Short Film. You will be needed for one day which will be one of the 20th, 21st or 22nd February.
On this job post we are looking for a male or female aged 35-50 to be the character of a HOST. The host runs the operation. They breeze in and out and make small talk with guests. It was their idea to book Neil as part of a series “reflections on humanity”. They’re either an over achieving 30-something, or a distinguished 40-something. They had a career in the arts and spend their weekends reading the guardian. The man might have a whiff of silver fox, the women would be almost all poise.
Payment is NMW, and you can expect to be paid around £70 for the day.
